i saw these works by greg lamarche today and LOVE the use of typography and color. seriously these are so fun. i'd love to have a couple of these turned into posters hanging in my office at home.

royal family kids camp invite

our church partners with a non-profit organization called royal family kids' camp every year to host a camp for foster kids. its a week of camp completely free to the kids who are chosen by having their social workers request a spot. its basically to pour love out on kiddos who have been through serious abuse or neglect. this is an invite i made for a formal event thanking all the people who donated time or finances towards this years camp.

i've always thought i would like to illustrate a kids book. actually i've had people tell me i should too. anyway, i was just playing around with some fun illustrations last week and thought i'd share.

my wedding!

so after months of planning..its over. just like that. it was so wonderful though. everything was exactly as nate and i wanted it to be.

i wanted to show our wedding invite designs. we did it together. nate drew the tree and i made it into a vector file and worked in the design and type elements. i love how they turned out and i still really love our color combo.

so that is our invite, rsvp card, reception info card, program and name cards for the tables.

so... i'm in week 19 of our "52" project on flickr. a group of friends and myself have decided to keep our creative juices flowing every week by posting 1 type of art [photo, painting, design, etc] to flickr that we created during that week. yes, a year of art. we figure it helps keep those of us who do art for a living enjoying our craft and doing non-job art. and for those who don't do art for a living, it is an avenue in which they can grow their skills as well.

Week19

on some weeks i post multiple files to my own personal folder, but only one a week to the group. this is a screen shot of all the art i've done for 19 weeks of this project. enjoy.

i caught a glimpse of one of his paintings on my igoogle "artist a day" widget and couldn't resist looking at more of his paintings. i LOVE the scientific realism of the birds mixed with some abstract strokes colors and shapes. seeing work like this makes me want to paint more.

wedding set

i recently finished this wedding set as well. i designed the monogram that was used on the invite and their favors and such. the invite folded down to a square which they were sealing with a wax seal. so neat! i really love how these turned out when they printed. they looked beautiful!

i saw this artist featured in my igoogle artist a day widget. i was instantly drawn to his incredible paintings!! i love all of the texture and the lighting that builds these abstract landscapes.
