This book is incredible so far. Have to take it a chapter at a time and really dig through it because every sentence is thought-provoking. Merton is an amazing author.
this is kind of like the antonym of 'praise habit.' i was amazed at the different aspects to this book. you really just have to read it to understand. laughing and crying occurred as i read this one... but it is a great reminder that death is not the final calamity.
david crowder breaks down some of his favorite psalms and shows us that praise is a lifestyle. i remember reading this one at a coffee shop. i was laughing so hard at one point that one of the baristas came over to see what i was reading. david crowder is an amazing musician and author.. definitely on my list of people i'd like to meet someday.
all about being aware of the world outside of yourself. also a lot about how the various ways in which you spend your money truly affects people all over the world. making conscious choices to support fair treatment of all life. turning your self-centered faith into a more selfless faith. great ideas of how to change small aspects of your life to positively impact the world.
as easily as i know how to say it: this is the greatest book i've read about jesus. shatters some of the boxes we've shoved God into and shows the passionate side of a God that we've tried to tame.

the first book i ever read by Yancey. hands down the most influential book on my faith up to this point. i had never thought about the concept of grace and this book shattered so many of my rigid ideas about God and about God's people. if we could all live with a bit more grace the world would be an amazing place.
um, wow. shane is like a modern-day mother teresa. i couldn't put this book down and it is full of challenging thoughts. expanding your life outside of your comfort zone and caring for other people in this world.
